The HenleyCams have become immensely popular with all who pass through our doors that we even get comments from ex-students and pilots who are now living and working in the helicopter industry in other parts of the world. They say the HenleyCams offer them a fantastic opportunity to be reminded of their training days and just to catch up with what is going on at Henley Air. In addition, the HenleyCams provide an important safety feature in that adverse weather conditions can be seen live at any given time aiding in better flight planning for our staff and pilots.
WestCam was the very first camera installed. The initial design used a small USB webcam connected to a dedicated Windows PC running 24/7. WestCam points West from Hangar 6 towards the Silver Ball in the distance. This view covers our most active helipads from where training and charter flights launch.
NorthCam was the second camera installed and points North-West towards the Linksfield Ridge. This view covers the Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) helipads in front of Hangar 7, as well as the maintenance helipads in front of Hangar 8.
HangarCam was the third camera installed and the view is from a location in the North-West corner of Hangar 6. From HangarCam you are able to see a multitude of helicopter types ranging from the smallest Robinson R22’s to the biggest Bell 222ut’s and 230’s.
